Emmylou Harris – Live with James Burton 1976

What we have here is vintage country rock friends. Didn’t get much information with this one, just that it was Emmylou Harris with James Burton….sometime in 1976. I take that to mean that this is her with the Hot Band, and this is shortly after “Elite Hotel” came out. Just know this, it’s damn good and worth downloading. ’nuff said.

Emmylou Harris – at the Ryman video clips (Lodi, Guitar Town, Walls of Time)

Here are some great clips from the “At The Ryman” VHS. This version of Lodi is just amazing….I mean really amazing. Notice Sam Bush on the mandolin.

and her rendition of Guitar Town is equally impressive

how bout a little bluegrass – Walls of Time

Emmylou Harris & The Nash Ramblers – At The Ryman

This is a classic album right here folks, Emmylou Harris….the legend that she is….live at the most legendary venue in country music……The Ryman Auditorium.
This is the album that renewed interest in the ryman auditorium, which had sat dormant since 1974 at the time of this album (1992) and has since been restored and declared a landmark. This is a great set from Emmylou, she starts off strong with Steve Earle’s “Guitar Town” and things only get better from there. Highlights include the aforemention “Guitar Town”, a cover of CCR’s “Lodi”, Hank’s “Half as Much”, Johnny Cash’s “Guess Things Happen That Way”, Bill Monroe’s “Walls of Time” and my favorite off the whole album: “It’s a Hard Life Wherever You Go”.
This was released on VHS back in ‘92 but they have not brought it over to DVD yet, it’ll be a happy day in my household when they do.
