Free Music Alert: Elmo Buzz and The Eastside Bulldogs (AKA Todd Snider) – Shit Sandwich

Holy hell, I have been wanting an Elmo Buzz, and/or an Eastside Bulldogs album from Todd for some time. Never expected him to give us a free one. This is so damned good. When Todd gets in this reckless, rowdy, loose, and loud rock ‘n’ roll mode it is one of my favorite things from him. If I’m not mistaken the East Side Bulldogs includes Bobby Bare Jr. and Elizabeth Cook. At least according to this video that was made for Nashville flood relief. The instructions to download are little ambiguous but I will lay out here real easy. First go to this post on Todd’s facebook page. All the information you need is contained in that link, but like I said, I’m gonna make it easy for you. Go to this page on toddsniderlive.com, enter the code which can be found in the above post on Todd’s facebook page (hint, it’s “tsl.com”), hit submit, then download and rock the hell out….cause I sure as shit am right now. Bonus points for the Spinal Tap reference.

While you are there, check out the download for the March 5th Todd Snider show at The V-Club in Huntington, WV. I was at this show, and it was amazing. I can’t reiterate enough how great a bar The V-Club is for live shows and the recording really captures the wild energy of that night

Thanks for this Matt, I don’t know if I would have found it otherwise.

Somewhere around here I’ve got a boot of Elmo Buzz from almost (gulp) 5 years ago. Elmo and the Bulldogs played a lightly promoted show at Three Crow Bar in East Nashville around Christmas in 2006. Back then, the Bulldogs were Blind Lemon Pledge, Dakota Montana, Mercury Morris, and Mike Honcho (aka Will Kimbrough, Tommy Womack, Mark Horn, and Peter Cooper). Probably time for it to go back into circulation.

Blind Lemon Pledge, by the way, is one of the greatest names ever.

Hey man! I am a 14-year old. I don’t know if you remember me from my coment from over 1 year ago about diggin’ RWH.

Since then I’ve learned a lot about alt country and roots music. About a year ago, I got on Charlie Robison’s tour bus! He was stoned out of his mind and gave me his favorite shirt (it was expensive)!!!! Now he wants it back. I recently saw Charlie again and told him I wanted to smoke pot with him when I was 18. He said, “You don’t have to be 18, buddy!’

A month ago I saw Ryan Bingham at Stubb’s here in Austin, TX. I got on his bus too!!! As I was leaving he yelled, “DRIVE FAST AND RUN INTO SHIT!!!” I yelled back, “I’LL DO THAT!!!!’

I have also seen The Gourds and Shinyribs many times!!! Kevin Russell gets better every day!!!!!

The other day I saw Bob Dylan and Leon Russell!!! Bob was trying real hard to put on a great show!!!!!!

I recently saw Steve Earle with The Dukes. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I strongly suggest you attend a show, you won’t be disappionted!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also enjoy old time music and blues from th 20s and 30s a lot!!!!

    Best Wishes,
    Ken

I figured that was a 14 year old girl until he signed his letter “Ken”. I thought only a 14 year old girl could get onto that many tour busses.

I think “Blind Lemon Pledge” came from an old routine by Martin Mull from back in his pre-TV days as “Martin Mull & His Fabulous Furniture”.
You’re right, Max. It is one of the greatest names ever!
