Scott H. Biram – Plow You Under (vid)

Scott is going to be playing Martin’s in Roanoke this Saturday and while looking up some vids I came across this excerpt from a 2008 documentary called Seven Signs: Music, Myth, and The American South. I’ve never heard of that but it looks pretty interesting.

I’ve got that DVD for a couple of years now and still enjoy it every time I put it on. I highly recommend it! Around the time of the production there was some kind of argument between the makers of Seven Signs (Col. J.D. Wilkes of Legendary Shack Shakers fame) and the guys behind Searching For The Wrong-Eyed Jesus (narrated by Jim White), but they since then settled it. It’s interesting to see how two films that deal with more-or-less the same subject could turn out so differently! And that’s rather to our advantage.

(Not only) for SHB fans: You should get the DVD/CD set THE FOLK SINGER immediately!!!

Also, does anyone have some SHB rarities to share here? I heard something about the Ivy League Sessions, but can’t find them. Or a Kruger Singles Club (?) single?

Btw, you can find the five songs that Bloodshot Records left off of their re-release of Dirty Old One Man Band on the High Noon Saloon blog.

    Cheers,
    MLP

Killer!, thanks MLP I will look for those rarities and see if I can’t find them. Will also point people over to that High Noon Saloon stuff. I thought he called it quits, is he still posting stuff or it just stuff he posted a while back?

It’s closed, sadly, but the link in that older SHB post there is still working. There’s also a pretty cool radio session!

And I can only repeat: THE FOLK SINGER is a must, there are some cool clips on youtube to give you an idea what it’s about (“The Folk Singer trailer” etc.).

There are three full shows on archive.org now (well, since last Nov. I think it said).

The two shows for The Smooth & Demented Show (KAOS Radio, Austin, TX) are there as well (and both are pretty damn good)!
