How to properly dance to Ray Wylie Hubbard

So I hope everyone caught Ray Wylie on Fallon last night (if not, WATCH ON HULU). Ray performed Drunken Poet’s Dream and did a hell of a job. Great to see him getting some major exposure because he definitely deserves it.  One thing I noticed is New Yorkers have no clue how to dance to Ray Wylie Hubbard. If you watch that Fallon clip they start off clapping awkwardly and continue some weird kind of sway half clap half lunge thing. I thought I would help these fine folks out if they ever find themselves at a Ray Wylie Hubbard performance with a video-graphic lesson on how to properly dance at a Ray Wylie show. The answer of course is: like little egypt

Check her out! She danced like that all night long. She also deep throated my buddy’s beer and pretty sure she was the reason the fight broke out. That or the d-bag who thought the show was an audition for Ray Wylie Hubbard’s harmonica player.

I took this short clip of a vid last year at The Shed in Maryville, TN.  Great great show, and unfortunately I missed his show there last Saturday.

That is absolutely the quintessential Ray Wylie dance. I have never seen him here in Austin when at least one woman was not dancing like that. Beautiful!
